YSL #13 Peach Passion Rouge Volupte Lipstick Review

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupte Silky Sensual Radiant Lipstick
#13 Peach Passion
Hey there! I'm going to just come out and say it I SPLURGED! I spent more money than I thought I ever could impulse spend on a lipstick. But, you know what? I don't regret it one bit, because this is the most gorgeous and luxurious lipstick of my collection. So beautiful in fact, that I went out and bought one of my best friends one for her eighteenth birthday too.

Now I don't want to spend too much time reflecting on the the digits ($55, okay lets not mention it again) but I promise you it's worth every penny. I could blab on for hours about this lipstick, so I've limited myself to three subcategories below, and I'll let the half a dozen pictures speak for themselves!

Packaging- I really don't need to even mention this because it's so obvious, but the packaging is GORGEOUS, I am in love with it! It also great that the middle band colour shows you what shade the lipstick is, it makes it  everything a lot easier, appose to rummaging through a bunch of identical black tubes trying to read the little names of the lipsticks (sorry MAC, I still love you anyway).

Shade: Although the name of this lipstick is Peach Passion, I would call it a coral more than anything. It is the preeettiest pinky-coral (okay, slightly peachy I gueeess), that would suit a multitude of skintones. It never fails to look gorgeous on the lips, although looks even more amazing with a tan (just saying), and compliments pretty much all of my regular eye looks, which is a big tick in my books. It is a very vibrant colour but it isn't 'in your face' kind of bright, if you know what I mean. Just look at swatches and you'll see for yourself have pretty it is! Overall it is a very easy lipstick to wear, that makes you look effortlessly polished.
Formulation: My heavens is this creamy, probably the smoothest/creamiest/most moisturising lipstick I own. But in saying that it is so incredibly opaque at the same time. Word of warning, I find that can sometimes settle in the cracks on dry lips, so it's best to do a quick exfoliate before applying if you're in that boat! I terms of longevity, it doesn't last forever unfortunately. Particularly when eating or drinking it doesn't hold up too well, but I think that's mainly because it is so creamy. Oh well, sacrifices must be made I suppose, it last 3 to 4 hours-ish, nothing that a quick little reapplication can't fix (but besides, I'll take any excuse to whip this gorgeous thing out it public).

All in all; I HIGHLY recommend these lipsticks, I know I'll be picking another one in the very near future! We all deserve to treat ourselves every once in a while don't we?
